Afrobeats Superstar Wizkid has been under fire from Ycee for his recent remarks on rap music.
Wizkid stated in his most recent interview with a British publication that he no longer listens to rap music because he finds it to be monotonous and dead. This claim drew a lot of criticism, notably from Nigerian rappers M.I., Blaqbonez, Ladipoe, Oladips, and others.
Wizkid also took to his Snapchat on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022, to broke-shame Nigerian rappers and to brand them “stupid f**ks.” in a series of posts in response to the response from the Nigerian hip-hop scene.
As the commotion grows, YCee also didn’t hold back and responded to Wizkid on Twitter. The rapper claims that the singer’s remark on Nigerian rappers is absurd. Ycee continued by highlighting the role that rappers played in the success of songs by other pop musicians, such as Kizz Daniel and Mayorkun. He stated:
