The 2022 Met Gala was held on May 02, 2022, in New York City at The Metropolitan Museum of Art under the theme, “In America: An Anthology of Fashion”.
Met Gala is the biggest fashion ceremony where fashion icons come together in their brightest outfit to raise funds for the museum.
The event was attended by Nicki Minaj, Pete Davidson, Kim Kardashian, Cardi B and Elon Musk, but the biggest personality missing was Rihanna and her baby bump.
Rihanna since her pregnancy has revived maternity fashion, as she often steps out in baby bump-baring clothes, which was a big miss on Met Gala.
Was Rihanna Present at the Met Gala 2022?
Ironically, yes, Rihanna was present at the Met Gala 2022, but not in a way you would imagine. She was immortalized in marble as sculptors styled her into a likeness of Eirene, also known as “Peace.”
The 34-year-old singer was honoured with a statue placed inside The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Greco-Roman galleries. The statue represented Rihanna cladded in an Alaïa bodysuit while showing off her baby bump.
It was quite unfortunate that Rihanna’s baby bump missed out on the Met Gala 2022, but the tribute stole the show on the night.
shut down the met in marble! what’s more gilded than that? Lol! Thank you @metmuseum and @voguemagazine for this historic tribute! y’all bad for this one! pic.twitter.com/NawYMd0RpL

Why Rihanna didn’t attend the Met Gala 2022?
Rihanna and her boyfriend, A$AP Rocky, unfortunately didn’t attend the biggest night in fashion. This comes as a result of her being heavily pregnant and unable to travel.
Pregnant people are not typically encouraged to fly domestic flights after 36 weeks of pregnancy, hence why Riri couldn’t show up.
During the previous year, the couple made a stunning debut at the Met Gala. On that night, Rihanna wore a stunning black gown from Balenciaga while Rocky was wrapped up in a colorful cape designed by Eli Russell Linnetz.
Rihanna and Rocky were last spotted in Los Angeles, following their return to California from Barbados.
