At the Super Bowl 2023, singer Rihanna took center stage and gave a performance unlike any other, making it an evening to remember for many.
The Super Bowl half-time show is generally regarded as memorable, and the 2023 version, which saw Rihanna perform for the first time in more than five years, was unquestionably one to remember because it featured only the finest hits from her extensive and faultless music discography.
During her performance, Rihanna belted out hits like “We Found Love,” “Where Have You Been,” “Diamonds,” and “Work.” When asked why she chose to take center stage for the first time in a while, the singer revealed:
I was like, ‘You sure? I’m three months postpartum. Should I be making major decisions like this right now? I might regret this,’
When you become a mom, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you could take on the world — you can do anything.
And the Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world, so as scary as that was … there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all,
It’s important for my son to see that.”
Rihanna mentioned how challenging it was for her to blend in and choose the songs she would perform at the event.
She shared:
“The setlist was the biggest challenge. That was the hardest part — deciding how to maximize 13 minutes, but also celebrate. That’s what the show’s going to be — it’s going to be a celebration of my catalog in the best way,”
