Award-winning Nigerian singer-songwriter, Burna Boy has criticised the person in charge of organising his headlining concert in Lagos.
The African colossus, who has sold out iconic venues like Madison Square Garden, State Farm Arena, and a slew of other venues around the world, recently announced that he would open the new year with a homecoming performance in Lagos. He would also be headlining at least three stadium shows in 2023.
Burna Boy had yet to take the stage at the event, which was supposed to begin at 6 p.m. Nigerian time on January 1, 2022, as of 3 a.m. Nigerian time on January 2, 2022. In a video that fans have posted, Burna Boy—who wasn’t performing at the time—takes the stage and rants about how the event’s organizers messed up the sound, saying that this is why he doesn’t like to perform in Nigeria.
This is not a joke. This is Burna boy addressing the waiting crowd at his concert at around 3am for a show that was to start at 6pm or thereabout. Mad country pic.twitter.com/wOOR0sN8jk
