Antonio Rudiger, a defender for Chelsea, has agreed to join Real Madrid at the end of the season on a verbal agreement.
On Monday, April 21st, 2022, Transfer Story analyst Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on his official Twitter account. The defender is yet to sign a deal with the La Liga club, according to the tweet.
Following Chelsea’s victory over West Ham United at Stamford Bridge, manager Thomas Tuchel revealed the news of the defender’s departure at the end of the season. According to the German Coach, the club attempted to strike an agreement but was unable to do so because of recent constraints on the club’s ability to sign or negotiate contracts with any player.
Rudiger was reportedly given a sum of between £200,000 and £230,000 by Chelsea, but he turned it down.
