After an appearance on Trevor Noah’s The Daily Show with Nigerian artist Burna Boy, Anele Mdoda’s kid Alakhe found himself on Mzansi’s trends map.
Anele Mdoda, who was responding to Burna Boy’s criticisms about Trevor Noah, joked that she agreed.
However, Alakhe’s appearance was the big attraction of the interview for most South African viewers. Trevor Noah, who was born in South Africa, gave the boy a seat before the interview with Nigerian singer Davido. All three — Burna Boy, Alakhe, and Trevor Noah — posed for pictures at one point, with the show’s presenter holding the child in his arms.

It was also evident from the video of the interaction that the boy liked the Nigerian singer’s haircut, which he pointed out at one point.
South Africans who watched the show and saw the kid on it were impressed by Anele Mdoda’s parenting style, and others said they’d like to give their children similar opportunity to stand out. You can see some of the reactions in the video below.
With this early exposure, it’ll be intriguing to watch if Alakhe follows in the footsteps of the characters he’s met. Perhaps the globe should anticipate the arrival of a new singer or media star.
