The Taxi driver who returned a passenger’s GH¢8,000 missing money has narrated how it all happened.
Following his good deeds, he received an amount of GH¢20,000 from the office of the Vice President and GH¢2,500 from two other anonymous donors, making the total of GH¢22,500
In an interview with the Fourth Estate, the driver identified as Isaac Kwesi Ackon gave vivid details on how it happened.
Mr. Ackon said on Easter Saturday, he arrived at the Malata market in Accra New Town and was flagged by a passenger to a stop.
He said he then negotiated with the woman for a fee of 40 cedis from Accra New Town to Teshie which she obliged and began the trip.
Isaac noted that after returning home, he checked and clean his car, where he found a dirty cloth tied to something. He said the cloth looked like a rag and smelled like fish, which made him want to throw it away, but refused.
According to Isaac, he became curious and decided to unwrap it only to find notes of money in the rag, but didn’t count it.
“I didn’t count the money,” he said.
He said he had to return the money because he knew it belonged to the Market woman she picked at Malata Market but couldn’t return the same day as it was late.
Mr. Ackon said he drove to Teshie the following day after Church service at The Church of Pentecost and handed over the money to the woman, who wept uncontrollably.

He noted that his faith and religion did not permit him to do otherwise
“If you are a Christian, you should always differentiate yourself from non-Christians,” he said.
Indeed, his good deed has paid off massively for him and should serve as motive to all persons.
