The jury was discharged after it was unable to make a decision on two further charges, and Benjamin Mendy will be tried again this summer on these. He was found not guilty of six counts of rape and one act of sexual assault.
Seven of the nine accusations against Benjamin Mendy have been dismissed.
After a trial that started in August 2022, the Manchester City defender was found not guilty of six counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
Two more charges against Mendy, including one allegation of attempted rape against a woman aged 29 in October 2018 and one count of rape against a woman aged 24 in October 2020, have not yet been resolved by the jury after 14 days of deliberations at Chester Crown Court.
The two allegations against Mendy—alleged rape and accused attempted rape—that the jury was unable to resolve will be retried in June. Louis Saha Matturie, Mendy’s co-accused, was found not guilty on three counts. Six accusations against him could result in a retrial.
