Inter Milan representatives met with Chelsea FC executives to discuss the possibilities of a loan move back for Romelu Lukaku to Serie A. On Wednesday, June 15th, 2022, Transfer News analyst Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on his official Twitter account.
Lukaku joined Chelsea for a record transfer fee of €100 million during the summer transfer window of the 2021/22 season. The Belgian, on the other hand, has struggled to recreate his goal-scoring form with the Blues, scoring just eight Premier League goals in the current campaign.
Lukaku’s bond with Chelsea fans was strained after he gave an interview to Sky Sports Italia in which he expressed his dissatisfaction with the club just two months after joining.
