Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, and Yes drummer, Alan White, has passed away, age 72.
The prolific drummer of the Yes Rock Band died on Thursday, April 26, after ‘a brief illness’ according to his family.
“Throughout his life and six-decade career, Alan was many things to many people: a certified rock star to fans around the world; band mate to a select few, and gentleman and friend to all who met him,” part of the statement read.
Alan White was born on 4 June 1949 in Pelton, England, and began playing drums at the age of 12 in public ceremonies.
White is an award-winning English drummer and songwriter.
He replaced Bill Bruford on ‘Yes’ band in 1972. Alan became the longest-remaining member of the band following the death of bassist Chris Squire in 2015.
He left behind his wife of 40 years, Rogena, and son Jesse and daughter Cassi.
