Nigerian Afrobeat icon Rema has added a new entry to the Billboard Hot 100 chart with the remix of his chart-topping song ‘Calm Down,’ which features popular American artist Selena Gomez.
The singer’s song was the first afrobeats single to debut in the Billboard Hot 100 chart’s Top 5. ‘Calm Down’ has continued to climb the charts after reaching number one on the US Pop Radio Chart as well.
‘Calm Down’ has grown in popularity, with renowned personalities such as football star Cristiano Ronaldo and movie icon Vin Diesel all expressing their enjoyment of the song.
Rema is also the most streamed afrobeats artist of all time on the digital streaming platform Spotify, with millions of streams.
