After spending two seasons at Chelsea, Timo Werner has finalized a permanent transfer to RB Leipzig and is now back in Germany.
The forward, who left Stamford Bridge for west London after four brilliant years and returned home as a European and world champion, is returning to the club where he first found success before transferring there.
The highlight of his time with the Blues was the Champions League victory in Porto, and he contributed to our success during his first season in England. Nobody scored as many goals or provided as many assists as he did in all competitions, and only Mason Mount played more games for Chelsea in 2020–21.
After scoring against London rivals Tottenham in his fourth game for the team, Werner went on a run of eight goals in nine games, including four in two significant Champions League victories over Krasnodar and Rennes.
