Following Sunday’s 4-1 loss to Newcastle, Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has been fired. With just one victory in their previous nine games and three victories overall, the Saints are mired in the relegation zone in 18th place.
Since replacing Mark Hughes as the club’s manager in December 2018, Hasenhuttl has been in command. Richard Kitzbichler, a first-team assistant at Southampton, also left the team.
After bringing the Hatters to the playoffs last season, Luton manager Nathan Jones has emerged as one of the top early candidates for the position.
