A seven-and-a-half-year contract with a club option to add another year was signed by the England youth international Noni Madueke, one of Europe’s most promising young players, to complete his transfer from the Eredivisie’s top-flight clubs.
A left-footed right winger named Madueke enters Stamford Bridge after Mykhailo Mudryk to become our second addition of the week.
‘I’m really pleased to sign with one of the best clubs in the world in Chelsea,’ Madueke said on finalising his transfer.
‘To return to England and play in the Premier League is a dream for me and my family and I can’t wait to get started. I am excited for what the future holds, the owner’s vision for the future and to be at a club like this and winning at the highest level.’
Todd Boehly, the chairman of Chelsea, and Behdad Eghbali, the co-controlling owner, expressed their excitement at bringing Noni to the club. We are happy that he has chosen to join Chelsea for this next phase of his career. He is an exciting prospect who has demonstrated his quality over the previous few years with PSV, playing in a competitive European league. We are confident that he will play a significant role on our team.
Born in Barnet, the 20-year-old midfielder progressed through the ranks at Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur before leaving England to go to the Netherlands and sign with PSV.
Madueke made his PSV senior team debut in 2019, and the following season, he established himself as a regular, scoring an astonishing seven goals in 24 league games.
He was given the No. 10 jersey for the ensuing season as he emerged as a crucial player for PSV, contributing to six goals in 18 games. He has since chosen to accept a new challenge with Chelsea in the Premier League.
