Iran’s participation in the competition has been under pressure from FIFA due to the treatment of women there. Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish woman who passed away while in police detention earlier this month, was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
People all over the world are criticizing the Iranian regime for its alleged assistance in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. According to the British Ministry of Defence, Iran is still giving Russia unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which have been used against targets all over Ukraine.
There have been calls for Ukraine to participate in the competition instead of Iran, which will begin on November 20, 2022, in Qatar.
