Femi Ogunrombi, called Papa Ajasco, a seasoned actor from Nigeria, has passed away.
For his part in the comic series created by Wale Adenuga, late Ogunrombi amassed a large following.
Husseini Shaibu, a theatre professional, confirmed the tragic news of the gifted actor’s passing on Sunday via his Twitter account.
He wrote, “I have just been reliably informed that the ethnomusicologist, former Music Instructor with #NATIONALTROUPE and one time stand in for the ‘Papa Ajasco’ character on the popular #waleadenugaprod comic series ‘Papa Ajasco’ Mr. Femi Ogunrombi is dead.”
When the original character, Abiodun Ayoyinka, left the show, Ogunrombi took over and played Papa Ajasco for the duration of the role.
