Just hours before the transfer window closes, Chelsea Football Club’s efforts to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have taken a significant hit.
Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner were both permitted to depart the club for Inter Milan and RB Leipzig, respectively, leaving the Blues in desperate need of a striker. Aubameyang, though, was reportedly attacked by armed thieves in his home over the weekend and has a broken jaw, according to press reports out of Barcelona.
Aubameyang is anticipated to be sidelined for a few weeks; however, this depends on whether he will undergo surgery. Instead of allowing the injury to heal normally, surgery is said to hasten the healing process.
The player’s transfer to Chelsea from another club could change a little bit. Instead of signing a permanent contract, Chelsea are apparently considering the option of a loan agreement.
