Phil Foden of Manchester City was chosen the Young Player of the Premier League season on Saturday, May 21st, 2022, ahead of renowned names such as Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and Chelsea’s Mason Mount.
The Englishman who has been impressive for Manchester City will face Aston Villa on the last day of the season in a bid to maintain their Premier League crown. In 27 league appearances, Foden scored nine goals and added five assists. He conveyed his joy on the club’s official website, beginning with his joy at winning the honor.
I am very proud to have won this award for a second season in a row. I have been really happy with my performances this season and it has been great to contribute to this team in what will hopefully be another successful year for us all. To be nominated alongside so many great players is an honour as they have all had great seasons for their clubs.
