With the win for Best Rap Album, Nigerian rapper and YBNL founder Olamide maintained his position as one of the most celebrated artists in the nation.
In a category that featured rap albums like Show Dem Camp’s Clone Wars Vol. 5, The Algorithm, A-Golden, Q’s Idowest’s Mafia Culture Vol. 2, LadiPoe’s Providence, and Blaqbonez’ Sex Over Love, the rapper had won this prize with his critically acclaimed Carpe Diem.
The rapper now has 16 Headies wins since the show’s inception, making him one of the top victors ever. Released in October 2020, Olamide’s Carpe Diem featured lead songs such as Infinity with Omah Lay, Loading with Bad Boy Timz, and Triumphant with Bella Shmurda. I’d like to congratulate Olamide, the Baddoo, on winning the Headies.
