The Argentinian men’s football team beat Croatia 3-0 in a fierce match to advance to the 2022 World Cup championships in Qatar.
The Croatians had a bright start to the game but lost control after an Argentine forward named Alvarez was fouled and they were given a penalty.
Messi’s penalty kick put Argentina on the board first. Alvarez, a forward for Manchester City, scored the other goals while Messi assisted.
With a large portion of the possession, Croatia attempted every tactic but their attempts were all thwarted by the Argentines’ strong defence.
On December 18, 2022, Messi’s Argentina will play either Morocco or France in the championship game.
