Guinness World Records have given, Thomas Wedders, known as Thomas Wadhouse a posthumous record for the “World’s Largest Nose.”
The Yorkshire born circus performer has a wax reproduction of his head situated at the Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum.
The Guinness World Records website states: ‘There are historical accounts that Thomas Wedders, who lived in England during the 1770’s and was a member of a travelling circus, had a nose measuring 19cm (7.5in) long.’
Thomas Wedders was born in England, circa 1730, with a strange nose. This led to his career as a performer and also known as the real-life Pinocchio.
His nose when measured was alleged to be 7.8 inches (20 cm) long. However, little is known about Thomas Wedders’s life.
He died around 1780 in Yorkshire, at either 50 or 52 years of age.
