Marcos Alonso’s career at Chelsea Football Club could be jeopardized after an altercation with Thomas Tuchel at the halftime break against Wolves.
The Spaniard was replaced during the halftime break after saying some nasty comments to Tuchel, according to reports from Stamford Bridge. This isn’t the first time Alonso has clashed with a manager at the club; he had a similar issue with Frank Lampard, which resulted in him being benched until Tuchel took over in January 2021.
Alonso is apparently interested in leaving Chelsea, and Barcelona appears to be his most likely destination. Tuchel has previously had conflicts with players such as Romelu Lukaku and Christian Pulisic over German coaching style.
Tuchel, on the other hand, has been silent on the matter, although it will be intriguing to watch if Alonso is named for the Blues’ Premier League match against Leeds United.
Understand Marcos Alonso was subbed off at half-time against Wolves due to a bust-up between Tuchel. 🚨
Sources tell me it was described as a “heated exchange”.
Marcos’ priority is to leave Chelsea this summer with Barça working on it. 🇪🇸
