Manchester City has made progress in its drive to win back the Premier League and the one prize that has eluded them in recent years.
On Tuesday, August 16, 2022, The Cityzens posted a statement on its official website confirming the acquisition of Sergio Gomez from Anderlecht. The athlete, according to reports for the Etihad, agreed to a four-year contract that will keep him with the team through the summer of 2026.
Gomez highlighted his joy at joining Manchester City and his desire to advance under Pep Guardiola, one of the top coaches in the world.
The Manchester club chose to sign Gomez after Chelsea Football Club sabotaged their attempt to capture Brighton’s Marc Cucurella.
I am incredibly proud and happy to have joined Manchester City, City are the best team in England and in Pep Guardiola I have a chance to learn and develop under the most outstanding manager in world football. To be able to be part of this club is a dream come true for me and something any young player would aspire to. The number of trophies City have won over the past few years has been incredible and the style of football the team plays under Pep is the most exciting in Europe. I have heard so much about the City fans and how passionate they are, so I can’t wait to get started and to try and help the Club achieve even more.
