On Wednesday, Manchester City breezed over Chelsea 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium to advance to the Carabao Cup fourth round.
Kalidou Koulibaly refrained from diving into the wall, allowing Riyad Mahrez to score a free kick in the 53rd minute to put the hosts ahead.
Chelsea had three decent chances but was unable to capitalize on them. Stefan Ortega, the City goalie, was given the game’s man of the match award by the stadium announcer. But the home team was the superior side. Much of their play was entertaining to see and demonstrated how the Etihad has instilled the traits of quickness, cunning, and instinct in its players.
