Real Madrid star Karim Benzema has reportedly responded to suggestions that he may be at the Stadium to collect up his World Cup medal.
The 34-year-old sustained an injury just a few days before the Qatar 2022 got off, which prevented him from competing. Didier Deschamps, the France head coach, did not, however, call up another player to take Benzema’s spot.
Prior to the World Cup final match versus Argentina on Sunday, December 18, 2022, Benzema uploaded a selfie to his official Instagram account on Friday, December 16, 2022, with the message “I don’t care.”
Benzema resumed full training with his team after receiving permission from Real Madrid to go back to Qatar. Benzema will be eligible for a winners’ medal if France lifts the trophy, but he is unlikely to pick it up in person.
The article drew a lot of responses, with the majority of them claiming that Benzema was speaking only about himself and not of going back to the French camp in Qatar. He did not, however, elaborate on what he was referring to.
