In response to the Premier League team’s acquisition of Mkyhaylo Mudrky, former Chelsea Football Club manager Jose Mourinho has reacted to the situation.
On Sunday, January 15, 2023, Mourinho was speaking at a post-game press conference that La Gazzette reported on after his team defeated Fiorentina 2-0 in Serie A. When the transfer window closes, he was questioned about what business his club will conduct in the transfer market.
He answered by saying this;
I am not expecting anyone to arrive. The director (Tiago Pinto) was very honest and direct, he said things in an interview that a coach usually doesn’t like to hear. Coaches always want to hear we have lots of money, can buy option a, b, c, d, build an incredible team. That is the dream. I worked at clubs with those sorts of practically limitless funds. There are more and more clubs nowadays that fit that profile, but it’s not our profile. We work, we give our all, and we work with the characteristics we’ve got.
Before deviating to discuss Chelsea’s most recent acquisition, he stated that he must find a solution using the power of the players he currently has.
We have to come up with a solution; we can’t just spend £87 million to acquire Mudryk.
