US President Joe Biden has asked BTS to visit the White House, where they will discuss crucial issues affecting the Asian community.
BTS, arguably one of the world’s most popular music ensembles, has stated that they will meet with US President Joe Biden at the White House on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, to commemorate Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Month.
The visit was confirmed by the White House press today, Thursday, May 26, 2022. The focus of the group’s visit to the White House would be on Asian inclusion and anti-Asian hate crimes.
The group is known for speaking out on social and societal issues, lending their voices, and making an influence on causes such as the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, the Black Lives Matter campaign and the anti-Asian Hate campaign.
In a statement provided by the White House, the Grammy-nominated quartet also said:
“will also discuss the importance of diversity and inclusion and BTS’ platform as youth ambassadors who spread a message of hope and positivity across the world.”
