In a recent news conference held by Fifa prior to Ghana vs. Uruguay game, Suarez made it clear that he has no reason to apologize to Ghanaians or anybody else for the handball incident, which prevented Ghana from making it to the World Cup semifinals for the first time.
He cited the fact that he was penalized for the handball incident by being sent off as well as the Ghanaian player Asamoah Gyan’s refusal to score the penalty as reasons why he would not apologize.
On December 2, 2022, Ghana and Uruguay will square off in the final group-stage game.
