A Tanzanian woman, identified as Ms Swalha Salum, was shot several times to death by her husband.
The woman who was a resident of Buswelu in Ilemela District was shot in the head by her husband, Mr Said Oswayo on May 28.
She was shot after having an intense quarrel with her husband over dishonesty behaviours during their marriage.
Her death came as a massive shock to her neighbours who turned up massively and laid her to rest in an Islamic fashion.
The 26-year-old woman was buried at Kirumba Islamic Cemetery in Mwanza Region, Tanzania.
Sheikh of Kirumba ward, Sululu Salum, speaking at the funeral, urged the mourners to be patient during difficult times.
“Religious scriptures tells us to be patient in hard times especially when we are in trouble because going contrary to that would lead you into wrong decisions,” said Sheikh Salum
The mother of Mr. Said, Ms Tatu Owayo, told reporters that the funeral processions were held outside the house of their son after misplacing the keys.
“It is unfortunate that since we arrived here after receiving reports of this incident, we have not been able to enter my son’s house, the house is locked by my In-laws brother,” said Ms Tatu.
She added that other reports suggest relatives of her son’s wife have locked the house, claiming the apartment was purchased by the deceased.
Meanwhile, Mr. Said was reported to have committed suicide by shooting himself in the head two days after allegedly murdering his wife.
He was found dead along Rock Beach shore floating on water.
