During the verdict day of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s trial at the Fairfax courtroom, there was a noticeable person absent.
The Pirate of the Caribbean actor was missing, with sources citing that his absence was “due to previously scheduled work commitments made before the trial.”
So where was Johnny Depp during the Defamation verdict? Here is what we know.
The actor was said to be watching from the United Kingdom whiles Heard and her legal team, as well as Depp’s legal team, were present in the courtroom.
Following the announcement of the verdict, Depp was seen at the Bridge Pub in England.
A fan shared a video shaking the hands of the actor and said, “We love you, Johnny.”
In the meantime, English singer, Sam Fender also released a selfie picture of himself, Depp during a lunch.
“Some serious heroes,” the singer captioned the picture on his Instagram Stories.
After six weeks of trial, the judges unanimously ruled that Depp was defamed by Amber Heard and that the Aquaman actress “acted with actual malice.”
The judge ruled that Depp is awarded $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages.
The jury also awarded Heard with $2 million in compensatory damages for her counterclaim and found Depp liable for saying Heards claim was “hoax.”
