Ghanaian rapper Edem has issued an official press statement following a recent collision on the George Walker Bush Highway. The incident, which occurred last Saturday, resulted in the tragic death of a 40-year-old woman.
Edem, who has reportedly been charged at the Kaneshie District Court, is facing accusations related to careless driving and causing harm. Despite being rushed to the Police Hospital for treatment, the woman did not survive.
In his press statement, Edem recounted his version of the events. According to the rapper, his car somersaulted twice upon colliding with the woman, who was reportedly crossing the road at an odd hour.
The statement provides Edem’s perspective on the incident, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the collision. The rapper expressed regret over the tragic outcome and emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the matter.
Edem has been granted bail of GH¢50,000 with two sureties. The case is scheduled to reappear before the Kaneshie District Court on February 15, 2024.
