For the first time, Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool Football Club, has spoken about the transfer of Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich.
Since the Senegalese was transferred to the Bundesliga during the summer transfer window, Klopp has never really given his thoughts on the transaction. The German claims that Mane is an excellent player and that it was always going to be obvious that the team will miss having him play in matches.
Sadio is a world-class player. It was always clear that we were going to miss him. But this is not our problem now. Unfortunately, we also played bad games with Sadio. Not ‘so’ bad, but bad. I especially understand that the Liverpool fans want to discuss it, want solutions and things like that. But trust me, we have worked on solutions, and now we have the opportunity to show that we have understood it and that we will react.
During his tenure at the club, Mane was a tremendous addition to the Liverpool squad. In 269 games across all competitions, he registered 120 goals and 49 assists. He also won six significant trophies while playing for the club.
