The winner of the 2022 Best Player Award has been revealed by FIFA, the global governing body of football.
Following his incredible run last year, forward player Lionel Messi of Paris Saint-Germain was declared the victor of the coveted trophy for the second time since 2019 in his career. Following last year’s virtual event, which was held in FIFA’s Zurich offices because to the COVID-19 epidemic, the award ceremony was organized in Paris, France on Monday, February 27, 2023.
Messi got the prize for his contributions to Argentina’s victory in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, scoring seven goals during the tournament. He also won the Ligue 1 championship in 2021–2022.

The 35-year-old received the trophy he won at the World Cup in Brazil for being the competition’s top player. Messi became the first athlete to win it twice.
Messi won the prize ahead of Karim Benzema of Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappe of PSG.
