Erik Ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has given an explanation as to why Cristiano Ronaldo won’t be playing in the Manchester Derby.
The game held on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at the Etihad Stadium, was where the Dutchman made his remarks. Ten Hag claimed that the prestige of the player was the reason he chose not to play Ronaldo.
I would not bring him in because out of respect for Cristiano, his big career. Another thing was the advantage I could bring Martial, he needs the minutes but I do not want to point it out like that.
In their matchup with the Premier League Champions, Manchester United was defeated 6-3. Since Ten Hag became the Red Devils’ coach, this defeat ranks as his second worst.
With 20 points after the victory, Manchester City is now one point behind league-leading Arsenal in the Premier League standings. Manchester United, on the other hand, dropped to sixth place on the standings with 12 points.
