Nigerian Afrobeats artist Wizkid and Canadian heavyweight rapper, singer, songwriter, and performer Aubrey Drake Graham, better known as Drake, have revealed how their collaboration came about.

The OVO frontman and owner collaborated with Wizkid and British songstress Kyla Reid on the smash hit “One Dance,” which was released in 2016 off Drake’s album “Views” and earned a diamond certification in the United States in December 2022.

It sold over ten million units, making it one of Drake’s biggest records.

Speaking on his independently owned radio station, OVO sound, the worldwide superstar revealed that the making of “One Dance” came very naturally when he met Wizkid through UK-baed rapper Skepta and joined the remix of Wizkid’s song “Ojuelegba.”

The rapper went on to say that he had reservations about releasing ‘One Dance’ because of how new it was to the fandom, but that he was glad he did.
