On the second day of the Premier League, Manchester United traveled to Brentford F.C where they tasted defeat. The London club known as the Bees scored four goals in the first half to defeat the Manchester Club.
After Tottenham in October 2020 and Liverpool in October 2021, Brentford is the only other team to score four goals against Manchester United in the first half of a Premier League match.
Manchester United lost at Brentford, and as a result, they finished the game week at the bottom of the Premier League standings with no points and a six-goal deficit. Erik Ten Hag, the club’s manager, also made history by becoming the first Manchester manager to lose the club’s first two League games in more over a century.
On Monday, August 22, 2022, the Red Devils will play Liverpool in a league game. Last season, the Reds defeated Manchester United 9-0 overall.
