Ethan Ampadu will play in Serie A for a second season after moving to Spezia on loan for 2022–2023.
The 21-year-old played 29 league games, primarily in the center of midfield, during his loan season in the Italian top division with freshly promoted Venezia.
The highlight of his time at Venice came when he helped the Lagunari rally from two goals behind to defeat Roma 3-2 at home, but he was unable to assist Venezia in keeping their Serie A status.
In a busy transfer window, Spezia has added Ampadu as they attempt to improve on last season’s 16th-place showing in just their second top-flight season. They presently hold the 13th spot in the standings after earning four points in their first four games.
