Portuguese striker, Cristiano Ronaldo by mutual agreement has terminated his contract with Manchester United.
This comes after his 90-minute interview with Piers Morgan. In the interview, Cristiano Ronaldo made a number of damning judgments.
He criticized Wayne Rooney, opened up about his newborn son earlier this year, criticized young players at United, and alleged the club has made no progress since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Man United confirmed the latest development in a club statement.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.”.
Ronaldo will not be available for Man United during the second half of the Premier League season following his contract termination.
The club thanked him for his two spells at Old Trafford. Ronaldo scored 145 goals in 346 appearances for the Red Devils.
