American country music star, Naomi Judd, passed away on April 30 after battling health issues.
Her death was confirmed by the singer’s 57-years-old daughter, Wynonna Judd, on her social media platform.
She disclosed that their mother died after a serious battle with mental illness at the age of 76.
“Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness.
“We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory,” part of their statement read.
Naomi was a member of Grammy award-winning country music group, The Judds which she formed with her daughter, Wynonna.
The sad news comes after the duo were set to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame together on May 1.
