Former Chelsea player, Christian Atsu has been found dead under the earthquake ruble in Turkey.
The Hatayspor forward was in his room when an earthquake struck Turkey and Syria nearly two weeks ago killing over 45,000.
The 31-year-old, has been missing since the earthquake on February 6.
Sadly, his lifeless body was found under the rubble in the city of Hatay by rescuers. This news was confirmed by his agent, Nana Sechere on social media.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce to all well-wishers that sadly Christian Atsu’s body was recovered this morning,” he tweeted.
“My deepest condolences go to his family and loved ones. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their prayers and support.
“I ask that whilst we make the necessary arrangements, that everyone would please respect the privacy of the family during this very difficult time,” he added.
Following that, Atsu’s Turkish agent, Murat Uzunmehmet, also confirmed the news to reporters.
He said, “Atsu’s lifeless body was found under the rubble,” “Currently, more items are still being taken out. His phone was also found,” he continued.
Christian Atsu joined Hatayspor in September 2022 following his move to Al-Raed. He won 65 caps for Ghana and also played for Porto, Chelsea, Everton and Newcastle United.
