The transfer of German defender Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea Football Club has been confirmed by Spanish League giants Real Madrid.
On Thursday, June 2nd, 2022, the signing was confirmed on Real Madrid’s official website. Rudiger will stay at the club until the summer of 2026, according to club reports, with no opportunity to extend his contract.
He was an integral part of the Chelsea team that won the Champions League, Europa League, Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and FA Cup. In both of the previous two seasons, he was named to the Champions League Team of the Season.

Rudiger became a free agent at the end of the previous football season (2021/22) when the Premier League club and the player were unable to reach an agreement on a new contract.
