Graham Potter has been fired as head coach of Chelsea FC following an appalling performance in every club tournament since he took over.
Following a dismal run of results in all club competitions since the former Brighton manager took over in the 2022–2023 season, Chelsea FC has officially confirmed the head coach’s dismissal.
The news, however, did not come as a surprise to many as Chelsea has had one of the worst runs of form in the past ten years in Europe. Chelsea confirmed that the former Brighton manager had left the club after assisting the transfer under the new management.
The blues, who fell to Aston Villa 2-0 at Stamford Bridge, had one of the worst home records, winning just three of their previous ten games. Since Potter took over, the club’s shape and identity have come under intense scrutiny, and the blues’ slide to 11th place, 15 points from safety, may have been the tipping point that convinced the board of directors to fire Potter, the fourth-highest-paid manager in Europe.
