On Wednesday, August 10, 2022, Chelsea FC posted a statement on their official website confirming Sarr’s departure from the club. Sarr will continue with Monaco through the end of the 2022–23 season, per club reports.
Sarr moved from OG Nice to Chelsea in the summer of 2020, and he signed a five-year contract that should keep him with the team through the summer of 2025.
Before making his Premier League debut against Brentford last season, he made his senior debut for Chelsea in the Carabao Cup with a victory against Aston Villa. The French defender was a member of the squad that won the FIFA Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi and appeared in 21 games for the Blues last season (2021/22).
He will be leaving Chelsea on loan a second time; the first time was with Porto in the 2020–21 season, where he made 19 appearances.
