Chelsea have announced the signing of Marc Cucurella from Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club on a six-year deal.
The Premier League giants confirmed the signing of Marc Cucurella in a transfer agreement worth in excess of £60m, a club record deal for Brighton and Hove Albion and a world record deal for a fullback.
The 24-year-old, was registered in time and is in contention to feature against Everton on Saturday.
Manchester City failed to sign Cucurella after failing to meet Brighton’s valuation.
Cucurella becomes Chelsea‘s fifth signing of the summer after Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Gabriel Slonina and Carney Chukwuemeka.
Chelsea’s chairman and co-owner, Todd Boehly said: ‘Marc is an elite defender of proven Premier League quality and he further strengthens our squad going into the new season. We continue to work on and off the pitch, and we’re delighted Marc will be a part of the present and future at Chelsea.’
