After four years in charge, Brendan Rodgers has left his position as head coach of Leicester City FC the club in an official press statement. The Northern Irishman had been in charge of the club since February 2019, and during his tenure he led the team to a historic fifth place finish in the Premier League in the 2019-2020 season, securing European football for the Foxes.
Rodgers also oversaw Leicester’s impressive run to the FA Cup final last season, although they were ultimately beaten by Chelsea in the final. Under his guidance, the club has become known for its attacking style of play and commitment to developing young talent, and has consistently been a top-six team in the Premier League.
While Rodgers’ departure will come as a blow to Leicester fans, the club has already begun the search for a new head coach, and will be looking to build on the successes of recent years.
