English Premier League club, AFC Bournemouth, have announced that head coach Scott Parker has been relieved off his duties.
This comes after Bournemouth were humiliated by Liverpool in the Premier League at Anfield on Saturday.
Bournemouth conceded 9 goals against Liverpool, equaling the Premier League’s record defeat scoreline.
Scott Parker becomes the first head coach to be sacked in the Premier League in the 2022/23 season.
Following the sack, co-owner Maxim Demin said, “I would like to place on record my gratitude to Scott and his team for their efforts during their time with us. Our promotion back to the Premier League last season under his tenure will always be remembered as one of the most successful seasons in our history.”
He added that the club will commence the search for a new head coach immediately.
First team head coach, Gary O’Neil, will take interim charge of the team, and will be assisted by Shaun Cooper and Tommy Elphick, the club announced.
