Ex-Newcastle player, Christian Atsu’s mortal remains has finally been transported from Turkey to Ghana.
The 31-year-old forward was confirmed dead following the massive earthquake which happened in Turkey and Syria over two weeks ago.
Atsu’s body was found by rescuers nearly two weeks after the unfortunate disaster. His lifeless body was immediately conveyed to Ghana for burial by Turkish Airlines which arrived at Kotoka International Airport today, Feb 18.
He met his untimely death after scoring his first goal for Hatayspor in stoppage time.
Christian Atsu joined Hatayspor in September 2022 following his move to Al-Raed. He won 65 caps for Ghana and also played for Porto, Chelsea, Everton and Newcastle United.
