After group H opponents South Korea, Uruguay, and Portugal published their final rosters last week, the Black Stars are the penultimate team to announce its lineup.
Ibrahim Danlad (Asante Kotoko) was selected for the Black Stars team for the competition thanks to Hearts of Oak’s Daniel Afriyie Barnie and a last-minute injury to Jojo Wollacott.
Only the Ayew brothers, who participated in Ghana’s final World Cup appearance in Brazil in 2014, are still on this team.
Baba Rahman (Reading), Thomas Partey (Arsenal), and other seasoned members of the team, including Daniel Amartey (Leicester City), will be making their World Cup debuts.
After changing their nationality in September, Inaki Williams and Tariq Lamptey qualified for Ghana’s World Cup. The two played their first games for the Black Stars against Brazil and Nicaragua in exhibition matches.
Since changing his nationality to play for Ghana, Inaki Williams has been in excellent form, and he will be in charge of the assault for the four-time African winners at the competition.
The final practice match for Ghana before the tournament in Doha will take place on Thursday in Abu Dhabi against Switzerland.
The Black Stars will play Portugal in their tournament debut on November 24, then face South Korea three days later, and Uruguay in their final group encounter on December 2, 2022.
