Black Sherif has been chastised on social media for allegedly impersonating a British accent on the podcast show ‘+44,’ hosted by Zeze Millz and David “Sideman” Whitely.
On the show, the Ghanaian rapper, who recently sold out the KOKO in London, talked about his personal life, being homeless, and life after stardom. During the discussion, Black Sherif spoke with an accent that has been identified as being of British origin, which seemed odd to his social media followers and fans.
The backlash was sparked by a tweet by Twitter user @selormP. He wrote:
This British accent black sheriff downloaded is killing me.

Here are a few that we’ll share with you.
Ghanaians are quick to download the Bri’ish accent. Must be a remnant of the colonial era https://t.co/Px2ahwA32U
