Black Sherif Ends Nigerian Dominance On Ghanaian Charts | SEE THE LIST, UncensoredGH.com

The prevalence of Nigerian music in international music charts has been a major issue for musicians whose songs don’t sell well in their own countries and Ghana is not an exception.

Nigerian songs have been dominating not only the music charts but also the airwaves in Ghana. Numerous people have attributed this problem to the subpar tunes released by homegrown musicians as well as to a lack of promotion. With the release of Black Sherif’s debut album, “The Villain I Never Was,” there will be an end to the dominance in Ghana.

The first 14 positions on Apple Music’s Top 100 Ghana chart, which were previously held by Nigerian music, have been taken by all 14 of the album’s songs. Black Sherif’s other previously released tracks have also climbed the charts.
